We Have a Moving Date!

(November 11, 2013) The first time we set our eyes on New York City was only a few steps outside of the W Hotel in Hoboken, NJ. As a wedding gift, Tyler’s aunt and uncle gifted us the first two nights of our honeymoon at the W. The view was absolutely incredible!

We are officially moving to New York City in February 2025!

Since we began sharing our church planting story about two months ago, God has provided far more—and at a much faster pace—than we could have anticipated. Having never raised funds before, we’re amazed by the progress and affirmation we've received so far. Here’s a brief update on our fundraising progress:

  • Upfront expenses: $10,000 goal [Phases 1 and 2] (100% covered as of 9/18)

  • Annual salary: $60,000 goal (50% covered as of 11/10)

  • 24 household partnerships, 16 of which are monthly contributors and 2 of which are annual contributors

  • 3 one-time local church partnerships

While our supplemental annual salary is not fully funded yet, we are deeply encouraged and feel confident moving forward, trusting that God will provide for our family’s needs.

Our extended-stay apartment in Brooklyn is booked, and we will be relocating on February 12th. We’re excited to share that we found a place just a few blocks away from both the school where Trinity Grace Church meets and from Prospect Park.

A heartfelt thank you to each of you who have felt led to support and partner with us in this journey to plant a church in NYC!

For those interested in partnering with us, more information is available here.

We also invite you to continue praying for us during this season. In just over 90 days, our family will board a plane with only a few suitcases and backpacks, relocating across the country to a city where we hope to dedicate our lives.

Prayer Requests:

  • That we would prioritize our family’s well-being and discipleship.

  • That we would finish well in Seattle, with Erin’s work, our neighbors, and friends.

  • That our family would maintain strong relationships with all of our partners.

  • That we would steward the contributions of other households and churches wisely.

  • That we would trust God to provide a job for Erin, an apartment for our family, and a school for Rowan and Kinsey.

  • That a few churches would adopt us as ministry partners, committing to pray for, encourage, and financially support us.
