Trusting God’s Timing

Dear friends and family,

God is so good, and his timing cannot be matched. As we count down the days until we move our family across the country, we’ve cherished every conversation, every hug from a friend, and every walk around the neighborhood, all the while trusting that we are following God along the way. And yet, the Lord is still determining our steps.

Over the last few weeks, we have experienced some health issues in our family, and last week it all came to a head. We want to assure you all that we are okay and getting the care and support that we need at the moment, but we are going to take some time to seek healing and medical treatment. As a result, we have decided to postpone our moving date for a couple of months, which was originally scheduled for 2/28.

To be honest, this new development is not how we imagined these next few months unfolding. But God knew. He is our comfort and shield, leading us into deeper communion with him each day. We can already see the good in this pause, as God is giving us the time and space to continue preparing for what He has next. We are incredibly hopeful to spend this season letting God love us in ways we didn't know we needed, to become more dependent on him than we have yet learned to be.

We are so grateful for all of you and the support you have given us on our journey so far! We know you care about and love our family, so if you are wondering how you can be of help in this time, we are asking you to continue praying for us and our family. If you feel inclined, you can mail or message notes of encouragement or prayer. Your words are tremendous sources of encouragement and affirmation!

New York is still very much on our hearts and minds. The leaders of Trinity Grace Church have been graciously providing counsel, encouragement, and prayer in this time. It is still our intention and desire to join their church community as we seek training and development for urban church planting.

We will share more updates in the coming weeks and months. Until then, please continue to keep us in your prayers.
